Each shipment includes an insulated cooler and 20 pounds of dry ice to maintain the necessary low temperature throughout transit. Because dry ice sublimates (turns from solid to gas) without leaving any residue, it ensures your products stay dry and uncontaminated.

Packaging and Delivery

Our meticulous packaging process includes:

  1. Insulated Shipping Coolers: We use 1.5-inch insulated coolers to provide superior thermal protection.
  2. Dry Ice: Each cooler is packed with at least 20 pounds of dry ice to keep your items frozen during transit.
  3. Product Packaging: Your Crabby Bags are carefully placed within the cooler to ensure maximum exposure to the cold environment.

Given the perishable nature of our products, we ship all orders via overnight or 2-day shipping through FedEx and UPS Ground or Air. This rapid delivery ensures your items remain frozen, as the packaging is designed to keep items frozen for 2 days in transit and an additional 4 hours after delivery.

Shipping Schedule and Restrictions

Crabby Bags ships from Monday to Wednesday. This schedule ensures that your package does not sit in a warehouse over the weekend, which could compromise its quality.

For example, if you place an order on a Monday evening, and there's a major holiday like the Fourth of July on Thursday, we will hold your order until the following Monday. This precaution is due to anticipated shipping delays, as major holidays often result in reduced staffing for carriers like UPS and FedEx. We prioritize ensuring your package arrives on time and in perfect condition, even if it means a slight delay in shipping.

Order Tracking and Notifications

To keep you informed about your shipment, we recommend checking your spam box for updates or creating an account with us for email notifications. You can also opt for SMS updates at checkout for real-time tracking information.

Shipping to Risky Areas

We do not ship to areas where delivery might be risky or unreliable, especially during holidays when shipping delays are more likely. Our goal is to ensure your Crabby Bags arrive safely and in the best condition possible.

We also do not ship to risky delivery areas in conjunction to holidays interfering with deliveries. For example, if you order a Crabby Bag on Monday evening and the fourth of July is on a Thursday. This order will not ship until the following Monday. Here is why. 

Technically your order should be safe and arrive at your home on Wednesday. however, because the fourth of July is one of the biggest holidays for PTO, statically we can expect for UPS/FedEx to half at least a 20% difference in available delivery drivers nationwide. Knowing this information, we can expect major shipping delays since we are sure each company will be short staffed during this holiday week.  So technically, if we cannot guarantee the order would normally be delivered in one business day, we want ship it at this time. 

Route Package Protection

To further protect your order, we offer Route Package Protection. This insurance covers your order in case of unforeseen issues during shipping. Since we do not offer refunds on perishable items, purchasing this protection ensures you are covered in the rare event something goes wrong.
